DAMIANA
Menopause often heralds a decreased interest in sex and an aphrodisiac can sometimes be useful.
Damiana or Turnera Diffusa is native to Mexico and the Southwestern United States and is a major remedy and
aphrodisiac in Mexican medical folklore.
Damiana has been used for the treatment of impotence, sterility, menopause, diabetes, kidney disease, bladder
infections, asth ma, bronchitis, chronic fatigue and anxiety.
It's popularity as a sex herb and aphrodisiac is huge and growing.
Damiana has a reputation for being an aphrodisiac primarily for women.
Damiana helps when there has been a loss of vitality in the sexual organs by providing needed oxygen to the
genital area and thus acts as a sexual rejuvenator and aphrodisiac.
The most commonly used part of the plant are the leaves although some preparations also contain the stem.
Damiana is widely available in health food stores as tablets, extract or tea.
It is generally suggested that you discontinue usage after two months if no positive results are noted.
Many herbs take at least 4-6 weeks to be of any benefit, so 2 months should be enough to see whether you feel any
benefits or not.

There is some information that indicates that Damiana may interfere with iron absorption, although iron is not
usually a problem once menopause is reached.
So you must monitor iron levels if you are using damiana for longer periods.
