Black Cohosh Starting Period?

clarea77 asked:

I went to the doctor today to see if I was pregnant since I was 5 days late and had just gotten back on my pills about a month ago. I didn’t have my Feb. period and was worried. So she confirmed I wasn’t pregnant, but I wasn’t having my period. She said it could be due to stress or the pills. I’ve had menstrual cramps for 2 weeks. A friend of mine suggested trying Black Cohosh to get my period started. We don’t have a place here that sells it. So I was at Walmart today and they had it in the vitamin isle as black cohosh root whole herb for menopause support in gel capsule form. Is this something that will really help my period to start?

I have not heard about it being used to try and start a period but I would recommend checking with your doctor and also a natural health food store (if one is close by) to see what they say.
